Open Studio (intermediate - Advanced Potters)

Our Open Studio sessions are for experienced potters who are confident working independently on the wheel or with handbuilding. These sessions provide access to studio facilities, wheels, and kiln firings, with minimal tutor input. Ideal for developing personal projects, refining techniques, and working at your own pace within a shared studio environment.

Time slots are individually, sold in packs or secure your wheel weekly with an ongoing membership!

Open Studio Membership

Our Open Studio Membership provides regular weekly access to Open Studio sessions for experienced potters who are confident working independently.

This membership is ideal for those who want consistent studio time to develop personal projects, refine techniques, and maintain a regular pottery practice in a calm, well-equipped environment.

Membership includes:

One Open Studio session per week
Access to studio wheels and workspace
Standard clay allowance per session
Use of studio glazes
Kiln firing within the studio’s scheduled firing timetable

Open Studio is not a taught class. Tutor support is minimal and focused on studio guidance and health & safety.

Open Studio – Terms & Conditions

Eligibility
Open Studio sessions are for experienced potters who are confident working independently. Completion of a Beginner Wheel Course or equivalent experience is required. We reserve the right to advise on suitability before confirming a place

Independence
Open Studio is not a taught class. Tutor input is minimal and focused on health & safety and general studio guidance.

Booking
Sessions must be booked in advance. Places are limited and allocated based on the number of available wheels/workspaces.

Materials & Firings
Standard studio clay, glazes, and kiln firings are included within the session price. Large, unusual, or excessive work may incur an additional materials charge.

Kiln Schedule
The studio operates on a scheduled kiln firing timetable. If work is not ready in time for a firing, it will be included in the next scheduled cycle.

Care of Studio
Users are expected to clean their workspace, tools, and wheels at the end of each session. Open Studio is a shared space and should be left clean and tidy within your time slot. Failure to do this may result in membership being terminated.

Health & Safety
All participants must follow studio safety guidelines at all times. Failure to do so may result in removal from the session without refund.

Missed Sessions
Open Studio sessions are non-refundable. Where possible, we may offer rescheduling subject to availability, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Behaviour
Respectful behaviour towards staff, other students, and studio equipment is required at all times.
