Our Party Structure & Packages
Our 2-hour parties are carefully structured to keep children engaged, happy and relaxed from start to finish. We begin with a warm welcome and gentle games, giving everyone time to settle in and feel comfortable. This is followed by a starter art activity to ease the children into the creative session and build confidence.
Halfway through the party, we pause for a snack or food break (if chosen). Parents are welcome to bring their own food, cake and refreshments. After cake and candles, the party resumes with the main art activity, where children focus on creating their final piece to take home.
The party finishes with a calm wrap-up, allowing time for creations to be packed away and goodbyes to be made.
If you are not choosing to bring party food, cut the time down to 90 minutes at checkout and save!

What ages are your parties suitable for?
Our parties are designed for children and teens aged 4–16.Each party type includes age guidance, and activities are always adapted to suit the age group attending.
How long do parties last?
Most parties run for 2 hours. Some teen-only experiences are 90 minutes, which will be clearly stated on the party description.
All parties are quoted for 2 hours - to allow 30 minutes break for food. If you do not require this, you can select at checkout and reduce the cost.
How many children can attend a party?
Group sizes vary depending on the activity. Details are listed on each party option, and we keep numbers manageable to ensure a high-quality experience for everyone. Most parties are priced upto 10 guests. The max amount of guests we can hold at The Art School, Chester is 25. Please enquire if you have sourced your own venue for a quote on larger parties.
Do parents stay during the party?
Due to limited space at The Art School, Chester, we do advise that parents drop off and collect at the end of the party. We can allow a limited number of parents to stay on conditions to keep volume levels limited, not to block areas up and keep stairway clear. Party parents are welcome to stay. .Our team leads the party from start to finish, so parents can relax nearby while the children create.
Is food included?
Food is not included, but parents are welcome to bring their own food and cake if a break is included in the party format.This allows families to cater to their own preferences and dietary requirements.
Do you provide everything needed for the party?
Yes. All art materials, equipment, set-up and clean-up are fully included.Parents just need to bring food and cake if they choose.
Can parties be held off-site or at home?
Many of our parties are available as mobile parties, where we bring the experience to your home or chosen venue. Some specialist activities are studio-only — this will be clearly stated.
Are parties supervised?
Yes. All parties are led by qualified art teachers, ensuring children are supported, engaged and safe throughout.
What do children take home?
Every child leaves with a finished creation, either on the day or ready to collect later (for pottery pieces that require firing).
Do you cater for children with additional needs?
We aim to create a welcoming, inclusive environment.Please let us know in advance if your child has any additional needs so we can support them appropriately.
What should children wear?
We provide aprons, but we recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy — just in case.
How do I book a party?
Follow our "Book now" widget and you can book online! If you are hosting a party off site - please contact us to and we’ll guide you through the next steps and confirm all details before booking.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. Full payment and numbers are to be confirmed 14 days before the party.
The Art School birthday party booking Terms & Conditions
1. Please note, that the booking fee required to secure your party date is non-refundable. This policy is implemented due to the immediate action we take to remove the date from our availability list, there for declining other potential bookings. The fee ensures we are compensated for the opportunity and preparation costs incurred from reserving your specific date. We appreciate your understanding that once a booking is confirmed, the fee serves as a guarantee for your exclusive reservation and cannot be returned.
2. A birthday party booking fee amount is 25% of your total party price, depending on the party package booked (see picturastudios.co.uk for package details). This will be requested via invoice sent to your email address provided at the time of booking. By paying this you are accepting all party booking Terms and Conditions. If the booking fee is not paid upon receipt of invoice then the date may be given to another booking.
3. Should you need to move your party booking then there is currently no administration fee. The balance of your party booking must be paid 2 weeks prior to the date of your party.
4. The party organiser should inform The Art School of any relevant allergies at least 2 weeks before the party date.
5. It is the responsibility of the party organiser to provide all food, cake, and cutlery and party bags. Catering is not included in the party price unless booking the party food option.
6. The party organiser can decorate and personalise the party area 30 minutes before the party takes place if the room is available and if they wish to do so.
7. Please note that the staff from the The Art School will provide full party entertainment, however the children remain the responsibility of the nominated adults that stay at the party.
8. If the party is held at The Art School, Chester, we have limited seating for guest parents in the party room but will try and cater for as many as possible.. It is advisable that parents drop their children off for the party and collect at the end where possible.
