Pottery Wheel Masterclass day for beginners

Tap into your creative side with the Pottery Wheel Throwing Masterclass at The Art School Chester.
Tailored all skill levels, this enchanting day-long workshop will see you discover the timeless art of pottery making on a wheel. You’ll be guided through the process of crafting a pot you’ll be thrilled to show off.
Have you ever wanted to get your hands dirty and unleash your creative potential? This five-hour masterclass will see you do just that.
On arrival, you’ll be offered a hot drink and welcomed by the expert potter. They’ll guide you step-by-step, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident as you spin your first clay pot. With hands-on demonstrations and individual support, you'll never feel lost or overwhelmed. Not only will you learn the basic techniques of working with clay, but you'll also create a range of unique items during the workshop. Best of all, you’ll select two of your favourite pieces to be fired and glazed, which you can then take home after 4/5 weeks.
As part of the day, you’ll enjoy a delicious catered lunch and refreshing breaks with fellow aspiring potters. After your session, leave your creation in the capable hands of the craft potters, who will dry your piece and dip into a clear glaze to seal it before heading into the kiln. Your finished pieces will be ready for collection in 4-6 weeks at which point you will be contacted to arrange collection.
