About this course
Across four relaxed, creative sessions you’ll turn a festive design into a small collection of original, multicoloured prints – perfect for framing, giving as gifts or turning into special Christmas cards.
Take inspiration from winter foliage, woodland wildlife, festive decorations or snowy landscapes as you discover how to build an image in layers of colour using a single lino block. With step-by-step guidance you’ll develop your design, transfer it onto lino and learn to carve safely, creating bold shapes, delicate details and expressive textures.
You’ll roll out ink evenly, print by hand and line up your paper so each new colour sits in place. After each layer you carve away more of the block before adding the next colour, gradually revealing your finished three-colour design. That’s the magic of reduction printing: a small, limited edition that captures each stage of the process.
